The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has begun investigating complaints of cheating or malpractices in AIIMS MBBS 2017 entrance examination by the candidates at an examination centre. According to sources, CBI also conducted the raids in few places across the country. CBI has entered the scene after the committee constituted by AIIMS rejected allegations of a question paper leak and recommended a CBI enquiry. The committee was constituted to probe how the snapshots of question paper were out during the examination
Now, the CBI has started the enquiry and to figure out the facts.The Central Bureau of Investigation conducted raids at an examination centre in Ghaziabad. According to sources, CBI also carried out raids in few other examination centres in various states.

The committee constituted by AIIMS found that one of the AIIMS aspirants indulged in cheating with the help of the officials of the examination centre. The incident took place at an online examination centre in Uttar Pradesh. Sources reveal that the candidate indulged in cheating by smuggling in a camera at the test centre.
The committee identified the candidate, and his result has been withheld. However, neither the members of the committee nor the authorities of AIIMS revealed more details in this regard.

The issue of AIIMS MBBS 2017 paper leak came into limelight when Mr. Anand Rai, an activist posted the snapshots of question paper on Twitter confirming the leak on May 31, 2017.
AIIMS declared the results for MBBS entrance examination on June 15, 2017. This year, 2,84,737 candidates took the examination. Out of them, 4,905 candidates qualified in the test and were eligible participate in the counselling process.
