CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Daily Practice Questions 12 October 2023: In 2024, CBSE Class 12 examinations will commence from February 14, 2023 onwards. Section A: Multiple-Choice Questions
A problem in Mathematics is given to three students whose chances of solving it are 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 respectively. If the events of their solving the problem are independent then the probability that the problem will be solved is

(c) 1/2
(d) 3/4
Section B: Very Short Answer Type Question
If a = i + i + k, a . b = 1 and a x b = j - k, then find | b |.
Section C: Short Answer Type Question
Find the equation of the plane passing through points (2, 1, 0), (3,-2,-2) and (1, 1, -7). Also, obtain its distance from the origin.
Section D: Long Answer Type Question
If the area of the region bounded by the curve y^2 = 4ax and the line x = 4a is 256/3 sq. units, then using integration, find the value of a, where a > 0.

Section E: Case-Based Question
Electrical transmission wires which are laid down in winter are stretched tightly to accommodate expansion in summer.
Two such wires lie along the following lines:
Line 1 : (x + 1)/3 = (y - 3)/-2 = (z + 1)/-1
Line 2: x/-1 = (y - 7)/3 = (z + 7)/-2
Based on the given information, answer the following questions:
(i) Are the lines Line 1 and Line 2 coplanar? Justify your answer.
(ii) Find the point of intersection of the lines Line 1 and Line 2.
