Chennai School Holiday Update for 15 November 2024: As the heavy thunderstorm and rainfall in Tamil Nadu continue, The regional centre of IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has extended a Yellow alert for several districts including Chennai until Friday, 15 November 2024. The state has faced heavy rainfall in several regions for the past two weeks. This has forced the schools to remain shut in Chennai for some days. The government has asked the district authorities to monitor the weather conditions and announce a school holiday up to Class 12th to remain closed until 15th November 2024. However, the students and the parents are awaiting an official announcement for the holiday.

Latest Update: As per the latest updates available, the Chennai School Holiday 15 November 2024 has not been officially announced yet. However, schools and educational institutions affected by rain or waterlogging shall remain closed. Government schools shall remain open until any information has been passed. Private institutions may remain closed if the school authority declares it, so, students are advised to refer to their school authorities for updates.

A rise in low-pressure areas of Tamil Nadu on 14 November has created a situation for heavy rainfall in Chennai and its nearby regions. According to IMD, the Karaikal region is expected to receive rainfall of 4 to 5 cm in the next 24 hours.
