IP University has released a notice in which it has said that the university will conduct exams in an innovative way if the situation does not go back to normal. The university has prepared an exam schedule in case the lockdown due to COVID-19 persists.
The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University , which is commonly known as IP University, is currently shut due to the coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide lockdown. The university has announced a month-long summer break that will go on till June 6, 2020. The varsity will hold its exams of the final semester June 20, 2020 onwards while the intermediate semester exams will be conducted from July 1, 2020. All of these exams will be organised in innovative ways.
At present, IP University is planning to conduct its term-end exams in the pen-and-paper mode. However, if the conditions fail to normalise by June 20, then the university would organise online exams for the final year and the intermediate year students will not be required to give any exams.
IP University will promote its intermediate students to the next semester on the basis of the marks they have obtained in the internal assessment and previous semester. According to the varsity, the internal assessment will be inclusive of the mid-term test, assignments, and viva.
An online exam will be conducted for the students who are in their final semester in case the situation does not get back to normal till July 20, 2020. This online exam will have MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and will be monitored using Artificial Intelligence (AI) proctoring software and alternative tools. The laboratory exams will also be conducted in the online mode in which the respective department or college will be using video meeting or conferencing tools, as per the official notice. The revised dates for these exams will be released by the university along with detailed instructions if the situation arises.

IP University has announced that even the exams that will be conducted in the paper-pen mode will be held in innovative ways. The duration of these exams will be reduced from three hours to two hours in spite of the change in maximum marks for each exam. This can result in a change in the exam pattern or distribution of marks.
The students of the university have also been informed to share details regarding their back papers which they wish to give in the current semester. The draft datesheet for all programmes will be uploaded on the official website of the university and suggestions of changes will also be welcome from the stakeholders. The university will announce the final date sheet about 10 days before the exams will be scheduled to commence.
