CSIR NET is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. The NTA has been entrusted with this responsibility of conducting the CSIR NET exam by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Joint CSIR NET is scheduled to take place twice every year in order to determine which Indian Nationals are eligible for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges once they fulfill the criteria for the same. The exam is likely to be held in June or July 2022 and the notification is supposed to be released in May 2022.

Who is eligible for CSIR NET 2022?
All aspirants are requested to check the eligibility criteria for Joint CSIR NET 2022 before applying for the same. All Indian Nationals can apply for CSIR NET provided they are from the science stream and have completed their MSc at the very least.
The following table provides a clear idea regarding the upper age limit of those eligible for CSIR NET 2022:

For the profile of assistant professor, there is no upper age limit applicable.
In case the educational qualifications are brought under consideration, the minimum educational qualification to be eligible for CSIR NET 2022 is at least 55% marks in MSc or integrated BS-MS. There is a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.
