Kalpana Chawla University of Health Sciences, named after late Indian- American astronaut that is coming at the cost of Rs 100 crores, has been approved by Haryana Cabinet that met under the chairmanship of CM Khattar.
The cabinet approved in principle the proposal of Medical Education and Research Department for the University to be set up at village Kutail in Karnal district.
Earlier the Haryana Government had constituted a three committees for speedy operationalisation and monitoring of various works.
The Courses to be Offered
The full-fledged University will offer all the majors courses like -undergraduate, postgraduates, nursing and paramedical, post-doctoral, specialist and super specialist in different branches of medical science. With the university, a 300 bedded super speciality hospital is also coming up.
Land Deal Finished
For the establishing, the university around 178 acres land has been offered by the Village Panchayat on a long lease period of 99 years at the rate of Rs 1 per acre to the Medical Education and Research Department.
The Councillor of ministers also nodded to the proposal for taking out Group C and D posts from the purview of HSSC - Haryana Staff Selection Commission in Kalpana Chawla Government medical college.
