A new mobile application, ‘Shiksha Setu’ app has been launched for college students. The Haryana government launched this app to offer information regarding the fee, attendance, scholarship and online admission of all government colleges in the state.

A new mobile application, ‘Shiksha Setu’ app has been launched for college students. The Haryana government launched this app to offer information regarding the fee, attendance, scholarship and online admission of all government colleges in the state. The app will give instant updates of important things such as circulars, notices and other programmes to students as well as teachers. Students will also be able to pay their fees online with the help of this app.

A Sreenivas, the Director of the state’s higher education department said this app will help bring in more transparency in the college administration and the department, and at the same time, it will facilitate better connectivity between parents, students, officials and teachers.

During the admission process, students will also be able to check the status of their course or seats for every college in the state and find out information about the eligibility criteria and scholarships, Sreenivas further said. Along with this, students will also be able to get information regarding their assignments and notifications.

A few months ago, the Haryana government had come up with the idea of implementing the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for subjects at the UG level. For subjects such as Physics, Commerce, Geography, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Psychology, Mathematics, Political Science and Economics, the state government had formed committees with six experienced faculty members each. The members of such committees had to visit the colleges and universities in Kurukshetra and Rohtak to revise the syllabus and frame the modalities for CBCS implementation.
