IIIT Allahabad held its open day session for higher secondary students on 15th June 2018. More than 220 students from across the country attended the open day which was a collaborative effort of IIIT-A and National Academy of Sciences India .
During the open session, students paid a visit to the international level research laboratories and were also informed about the ongoing research projects in the institute. They were also informed about the various programmes offered by the institute and the study pattern.

Professor P Nagabhushan, IIIT-A inaugurated the open session. He addressed the students attending the open day session and talked about the importance of broadening perspectives. He emphasized on actual learning and development of thought that takes place outside the classroom teaching. He also advised the students to think critically and explore their untapped potential and creative sight.

Professor Shekhar Verma talked about computation while Professor U S Tiwari talked about how personality development can play a vital role in one’s career. According to him, students should work on their creativity and personality rather than just focusing on degrees.
Krishan Mishra who is a renowned scientist talked about the main aim behind the establishment of Indian National Sciences Academy in New Delhi, Indian Institute of Sciences Bangalore and NASI Allahabad was to get recognition for the research done by Indian scientists on the international map during the British era.
