IIM Ahmedabad launches Executive Programme in Financial Planning
Tying up with the FPSB India, the Indian Institute of Ahmedabad (IIMA) has launched an executive course. The Executive Program in Financial Planning and Investment Advisory Services is a one-year course for mid-to-senior-level finance professionals. FPSB, the Indian subsidiary of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB) and owner of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification, with IIM-A, introduced the course to be offered in a blended model including 84-weekend sessions in online mode plus on-campus training for 10 days. The curriculum comprises not just theoretical and traditional classroom sessions but also real-life case studies and industry interactions.
This course primarily emphasizes behavioural finance, communication skills, leadership, and negotiation. Students will gain knowledge in investment management, tax planning, retirement strategies, insurance, portfolio risk management, regulatory frameworks, and alternative investments, all while integrating ethics into their learning.
Prof. Joshy Jacob, a faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad said, “Financial planning is a crucial pillar of economic development. With this program, IIMA and FPSB India are bringing together academic excellence and industry expertise to create a transformational learning experience for finance professionals.”
The fee for the programme is INR 7,50,000, with an early bird fee of INR 6,97,500, excluding taxes. Interested candidates can apply for the programme by August 21, 2025, while the start date for the course is September 11, 2025.
One must meet certain eligibility criteria to enrol for the course. They should be CFP® Board certified, and those without CFP® certification can also apply, but they should first get an FPSB India certification. For that, they should apply through FPSB India and then apply for the IIMA course by visiting the official website.
