With the rising cases of COVID-19, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has announced the cancellation of IIMC Entrance Test for 2020-21 admissions. A press release has been released by the Institute with regards to the new changes in the 2020 IIMC admission process.
For this year, IIMC has stated that the entrance test will not be conducted and students will be selected for the course via qualifying marks and personal interview. IIMC has also announced the release of a revised prospectus for all the courses defining the new changes that have been made with regards to the admissions to different courses.
As per the press release, applicants will be asked to submit a written essay 200 words or a video of a duration of 1-2 minutes expounding on their Statement of Purpose. The essay or the video should reveal their purpose of joining and pursuing the course at the institute. Candidates can submit the video or the essay via the given email address.
Previously, it had been decided to divide the entrance exam and personal interview for regional language courses, meanwhile, an entrance test for courses such as Advertising Public Relations, Radio & Television Journalism and Hindi/English Journalism courses. With the latest notification, all entrance exams for all IIMC courses have been cancelled.
The Press Release from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication states that unlike previous years, this year IIMC will depend heavily on the qualifying marks of the candidates, which include intermediate, matriculation and graduation marks. Subsequently, candidates will be called to participate in an online Personal Interview, which will be conducted by IIMC. This will be the adopted admission process for IIMC admissions in 2020.
