With an objective to promote science journalism, Indian Institute of Mass Communication has collaborated with National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR).
It is advisable to understand that the communication of scientific knowledge through research publications is an essential part of the research programme. For enjoying the benefits of scientific research, the relevant scientific knowledge must be imparted to the masses through with the help of publications. NISCAIR is one such organisation that fulfils the requirement of a wide section of society through different publications in English, Hindi and Urdu thereby satisfying the scientific quest of the masses. NISCAIR serves the society through modern IT infrastructure by taking up new ventures in the field of science and communication.

Through this collaboration, both IIMC and NISCAIR will get access to resources with the help of which they will be able to work for promoting accurate and serious communication on issues related to science. As a part of this partnership, IIMC is further planning to conduct a National Conference on Science Journalism in December this year.
Director General of IIMC, Mr. K.G. Suresh pointed that the collaboration would help IIMC and NISCAIR to focus on creating avenues for holistic and informative reporting on matters relating to science. With an objective to bring awareness and make students focus on scientific reporting, IIMC has introduced three papers on it in the course curriculum of the English Journalism course.

IIMC, which began its operations with a limited staff has gradually emerged as one of the premier institutes in the field of mass communication. The entrance exam for the admission to varied courses offered by IIMC will be held in May 2018. The registration for the same will begin in March 2018.
