The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE exam for the 2021 session will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) on February 05, 06, 07, 12 & 13, 2021. The decision was taken in a virtual meeting conducted in online mode attended by the directors of all the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The GATE 2021 schedule is expected to be released very soon.
The website for GATE 2021 is live now which can be accessed through the link - https://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/ . If the previous trends are to be believed, then the GATE 2021 registration process is expected to commence from the first week of September.
GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national-level entrance exam which is conducted for admission into various postgraduate programs in the fields of science and engineering offered by various science and engineering colleges situated across the country.

Every year, the GATE exam is conducted by the seven IITs (Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Guwahati, Delhi, Bombay) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore on a rotational basis. GATE 2020 was conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) from 01st February to 09th February. GATE exam is conducted across eight zones situated in the country. The eight conducting bodies of GATE conducts the exam on behalf of the National Coordinating Body (NCB), Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.

GATE is thought to be one of the toughest engineering exams to qualify where the pass percentage usually lies between the digits of 15% to 20%. Only 18.8% of the total candidates who appeared in the GATE exam for 2020 session could qualify the exam.
