JoSAA HS and OS Reservation Policy 2024 : To seek admission into NIT colleges accepting JEE Main scores, candidates need to meet the eligibility under the Home State (HS), and Other State (OS) quota reservation policy 2024. Distribution of seats under both reservation policies has been stated to help students understand which quota they belong to and which policy’s benefits they will get. However, there are a few clauses for reservation claims such as candidates must present proper documents stating their category. If the documents are not authentic, they will not be considered by the authorities. The candidate’s category must be included in the Central list. Important details regarding JoSAA HS and OS Reservation Policy 2024

Here are the important details regarding JoSAA HS and OS Reservation Policy 2024:

  • In NIT Goa, 50% of the seats are reserved for the Home State quota. Out of this, 80% is reserved for applicants from Goa, and 20% is reserved for applicants from Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Union Territories of Daman & Diu, and Lakshadweep.

  • In NIT Srinagar, 50% of the seats are reserved for the Home State quota. Out of this, 90% is for applicants from Jammu and Kashmir, and 10% is for eligible applicants from Ladakh territory.

  • For Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the Home State Quota will be considered for NIT Goa.

  • For Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Home State Quota will be considered for NIT Puducherry,

  • For Ladakh, the Home State Quota will be considered for NIT Srinagar.

  • For Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep, supernumerary seats will be under NIT Durgapur, and NIT Calicut, respectively.

  • For Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, supernumerary seats will be under SVNIT Surat.

Candidates must note that the supernumerary seat allocation will be done for the Union territories after the JoSAA and CSAB Special Round for NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIs is conducted. The total of supernumerary seats will be announced at https://csab.nic.in , and the number of seats available for each category will be declared at https://josaa.nic.in . JoSAA will allocate seats based on the total number of seats available in the participating colleges. The institutes will provide the seat matrix data based on which the admissions will be conducted. JoSAA does not provide any seat matrix data.
