The fixed amount of tuition fee is Rs 1,00,000/- per semester for all IITs. Furthermore, the tuition fee is given concession based on the family income of the candidate. If the candidate's family income is more than 5 lakh rupees for Open/OBC candidates, then there is no concession. However, if Open/OBC family income is between 1 to 5 lakh, the tuition fee is waived off by 2/3rd i.e., it will be Rs 33,334/- per semester. For Open/OBC candidates with less than 1 lakh income and all SC/ST/PwD candidates, the tuition fee is waived entirely i.e., there will be no tuition fee for such candidates.
