At the India conference 2016 at the Harvard University, Kamal Haasan has been invited as one of the key speakers. The conference that focuses on the topic “India in transition –opportunities and challenges” would be hosted at Harvard Business school and Harvard Kennedy School by the graduate students of Harvard on Feb 6-7.
Kamal is perhaps the first South Indian actor to speak at the prestigious Harvard University and would be addressing the audience on February 6. He would be speaking on India’s soft power. The other Indians who would also address the conference are Shashi Tharoor, Nirupama Roy, Chanda Kochhar and Preetha Reddy.
At present Kamal is shooting in the US for Rajeev Kumar’s untitled movie and as per the sources and the Harvard website has confirmed his presence. The actor has also shared a link to Harvard site on social media announcing his participation. Quite interestingly on this site his profile describes him as a ‘revered actor, director’ and goes on to say,” He is also a prolific writer of fiction and non-fiction in Tamil and his published work is testament to his constant exploration of structure and form. A rationalist in thought, a moderate in opinion and a humanist in philosophy, he has converted his fan clubs into welfare organizations that work on education, cancer and organ donation drives.”
