Kerala Schools Holiday 1 August 2024: The weather in Kerala is under alert due to heavy rains as issued by the Indian Meteorological Department. As per the latest updates, the state will experience heavy rains for 5 days until August 3, and will improve until August 5. Schools in 10 districts, namely Kottayam, Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur have been declared as closed for July 31 and are expected to continue to be closed on August 1 as well. The IMD has issued orange alerts in two districts, Kannur and Kasaragod for August 1 and the rest of the districts have been issued yellow alerts and some will be under no alert. Here students shall find the latest updates regarding the Kerala Schools Holiday due to rain for August 1. Although there has been no confirmation yet, it is most likely that the schools and colleges will remain closed.

As per the latest updates regarding the Kerala Schools Holiday 1 August 2024:
  • The IMD has issued Red alert in 10 districts for July 31 and schools have been closed.
  • No confirmed notification regarding the closure of schools has been issued by the government of Kerala yet.
  • It is most likely that the schools in all the 10 districts closed on July 31 will remain closed for August 1 as well.

Here is the list of the districts under orange and yellow alert for the August 1 Kerala Schools Holiday as issued by IMD:
  • Kasaragod (Orange Alert)
  • Kannur (Orange Alert)
  • Kozhikode (Yellow Alert)
  • Wayanad (Yellow  Alert)
  • Malappuram (Yellow  Alert)
Due to heavy rainfall, the Wayannad district is under waterlogging and experiencing landslides. Although under yellow alert for rainfall on August 1, the schools are most likely to be closed due to waterlogging in most areas of the district.
