The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) respectively took the top spots in the engineering, management, and medical categories in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings last year. On July 15, the NIRF Rankings 2022 were released by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The national government releases the NIRF rankings annually to honor the best colleges, universities, and other educational institutions in India. Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Law, Architecture, Dental, and Research are some of the categories under the NIRF Rankings 2022. Best Indian Universities NIRF Rankings (2022 & 2021)
The Education Ministry announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2022 on July 15, 2022. This was the seventh edition of the NIRF Rankings. The framework was started in 2015 to devise a methodology of ranking institutions across India. Participating institutes were judged on the basis of various parameters including ‘Teaching, Learning, and Resources’, ‘Graduation Outcomes’, ‘Research and Professional Practices’, ‘Outreach and Inclusivity’ as well as ‘Perception’. The first list of NIRF Institutes was launched on April 4, 2016.
