NEET UG 2022: After NEET PG postponement issue, now over 10,000 MBBS aspirants, who have registered for NEET UG exam this year, have written to the conducting authority, the National Testing Agency (NTA), requesting that the medical entrance examination, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), for undergraduate admissions be postponed due to the meagre gap the current date offers between other competitive exams. In the letter to the NTA, the MBBS aspirants stated the fact that counselling for last year's examination (NEET UG 2021) has not yet concluded.
NEET UG 2022 is currently scheduled to be held on July 17, 2022, and as of May, the NEET UG 2021 counselling process is still ongoing in many states across the country. "Many NEET applicants, along with the droppers from the previous year, waited till the mop-up round of NEET UG 2021 counselling in the hope of obtaining a medical seat but were unsuccessful," the letter to NTA reads. "This year, many students could not predict their percentage of receiving a seat owing to the revised reservation policy of NEET 2021 counselling and then, suddenly after three days, NTA stated on April 6 that NEET UG 2022 will be held on 17 July 2022."
The letter furthermore continues, “CUET is also slated for the first and second weeks of July, while the JEE mains second attempt is set to begin on July 21, 2022. Students will face a significant burden if NEET 2022 is held between these dates on July 17th. A large number of droppers and freshmen will not have enough time to prepare for NEET 2022 Exam.”
