NID DAT 2021 Prelims Exam was conducted on March 14, 2021, from 10 am-1 pm. It is a pen and paper-based test. It is conducted by the National Institute of Design for offering admission to the B.Des and M.Des courses at its campuses. The detailed exam analysis of NID DAT 2021 will be updated here. As per the student and expert reactions, the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderately difficult. There were a total of 36 questions in which question 1-31 were multiple choice and 32-36 were the subjective types. 40 marks were for the GAT section and 60 marks for the CAT section. NID DAT 2021 Prelims Exam Analysis
The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderately difficult. Part I of the exam had General Aptitude questions worth 30 marks and Part II had Drawing/ Creative Aptitude questions worth 70 marks. A total of 36 questions were asked. In the GK section, questions related to COVID 19 vaccine and Padma Shree Awards were there. A lot of the candidates found the diagram and pictorial sections challenging but the GK section was reported to be of moderate difficulty level. The English section was reported to be easy.
NID DAT 2021 Prelims Exam Analysis: Types of Questions in the Objective Section
The questions in this section were from Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning, English and General Knowledge. There were no Mathematics questions in the exam. GK and Current Affairs section had questions on Music, History, Art and Coronavirus. The English section had questions from Vocabulary and Reading passages.
NID DAT 2021 Prelims Exam Analysis: Questions in Creative Ability Section
In this section, the total number of questions asked was 6. The questions were on topics such as comic strips, perspective drawing, story writing, poster making and compositions. Some of the questions from the drawing section were as follows:
- Create three images/ frames to depict a story
- Make comic characters for TikTok in six parts
- Create a poster on school bullying
- Depict a scenario in which your younger sibling is disturbing/ distracting you while you are studying online
NID DAT 2021 Prelims Answer Key and Solutions
NID DAT 2021 answer key will be released along with the question paper. The answer key will have all the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. The window to download the NID DAT 2021 answer key will close by the 1st week of April.
