Overall Analysis of JEE Main 2024 January 29: Day 2 of the JEE Main 2024 Session 1 examination was conducted successfully in two shifts today, January 29, 2024. As per our Subject experts, the overall Paper 1 level was ‘Moderate’. Physics was Easy; Mathematics was Tough and questions were a bit lengthy. The Chemistry section was the easiest of all the three sections. In the expert’s opinion, candidates who will perform better in the Mathematics section will likely attain a good overall percentile. Comparatively, questions from Class 12th CBSE syllabus were more than Class 11th syllabus. Day 2 exam also observed questions from the deleted syllabus as well. Therefore, candidates appearing in the upcoming days are advised to have a glance at deleted topics as well.

The Physics section comprised formulae-based questions. Based on the last 2 to 3 year’s trend, the weightage of chapters in Physics was found to be evenly distributed. The maximum weightage was given to ‘Electrostatics’ followed by Conductors, Photoelectric, Atomic, Semiconductors, Optic, and Galvanometer. The maximum questions were from 12th syllabus. A few fact-based questions were also asked from Class 12th syllabus.

Out of the three sections, Chemistry was the easiest and was more theoretical. Day 2 chemistry was easier compared to Day 1. Like 2023 exam, questions were easy to solve and based on NCERT only. Organic Chemistry questions were more balanced and easy to attempt. Physical Chemistry questions were lesser compared to Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.

The Mathematic section was the most challenging like 2023 paper, and constituted lengthy problems. Time management was the key to solving tough questions. The majority of the questions were asked from Algebra & Calculus. Approximately 60% of the overall paper was based on direct formulas and NAV questions were Lengthy and Tricky. On average, examinees on Day 2 Mathematics paper attempted 9 to 12 questions.
