Overall Analysis of JEE Main 2024 January 27: The Day 1 exam of JEE Main January 2024 (Session 1) took place on January 27 in Shift 1 and 2. As per the expert analysis, the Day 1 exam is considered to be 'Moderate' in terms of difficulty level. In both shifts, Mathematics was lengthy and tough. While the Mathematics section was considered as Moderate by subject exerts, most students who appeared for the exam considered it as 'Tough' due to its lengthy nature. While Physics and Chemistry were easily doable in 40-45 minutes, the Mathematics section took more than one hour to complete. A few students even left out a few questions from the Mathematics part due to the lack of time. As NTA applies the normalization process, all candidates of Shift 1 and 2 will have an equal allocation of percentile based on their performance.

The Chemistry section had more questions from Inorganic Chemistry than Organic on the first day of the exam. The Physical Chemistry questions were 'integer-based', and they were doable. Chemistry was better compared to the other two sections, and the difficulty level was easy to moderate. As per subject experts, Chemistry was the easiest subject on Day 1. There were no questions from the deleted syllabus in the Chemistry section.

The Mathematics section had an equal distribution of questions from all the topics in January 27 Shift 1 and 2. There were maximum questions from 'Vector 3D' in both shifts which marks as one of the important topics in Mathematics for the upcoming shifts. There were questions from differential integration, calculus, coordinate geometry and trigonometry as well. However, the questions in the Mathematics part were lengthy in nature and time-consuming. Overall, Mathematics was slightly harder than the previous years as per student reviews while the subject experts have a different opinion.

The Physics section was 'Moderate' with balanced syllabus. There were questions from almost every topic but there were no questions from deleted syllabus. Modern Physics dominated the Day 1 exam of JEE Main January 2024. Almost 3 to 4 questions appeared in two shifts. There were also questions from the electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism etc.
