Pragati Engineering College has been granted autonomous status by UGC. The college management conducted a press meet to give the details about the achievement. Chairman of the college, Dr. P Krishna Rao addressed the meet.
He said, “The officials of the UGC visited the college in the last week of May and inspected the various facilities, academics and faculty for the two days and sent report to the UGC. The college has been granted autonomous status basing on the report sent by UGC officials. This status will come into effect for the new academic year i.e. 2016-2017. The college has been granted ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in the academic year 2015-16. This is all because of the effective management and faculty who are responsible for these achievements”.
Principal of the college, Dr. Shambu Prasad said, “A total number of 272 students secured jobs in the campus placements in the year 2015-2016. Most of the students secured jobs in reputed companies like TCS and Tech Mahindra ”.
Faculty members congratulated the college management for the achievement. According to the autonomous status, the college can frame its own syllabus for the academics, conduct exams and declare results. The faculty members of the college are gearing up to design the curriculum for the new academic year. the classes for the first year B.Tech will commence from 27-June-2016.
