A proposal has been prepared by the apex regulatory body for higher education. The introduction of B.Sc. and M.Sc. in yoga, starting from academic session of 2016-17 in the 40 central universities, followed by state and deemed universities is in the pipeline.

According to the proposal, “It is imperative that Indian universities engage themselves in strengthening scientific evidence of the positive effects of yoga and meditation on human health.
