The hike in Tamil Nadu medical cut-off marks 2019 results in students opting for foreign medical colleges in China, Russia, etc. The medical cut- off marks increased by 100 marks in Tamil Nadu. Another reason for the medical aspirants to apply for foreign medical colleges is that the course fee is comparatively less than that of Indian medical colleges.
In the year 2018, the number of Tamil Nadu students applying for medical colleges abroad was around 60. This year the digits have changed and have increased surprisingly to more than 180 students applying for medical courses at foreign medical universities.

Manager Director of Study Abroad Educational Consultants, Mr. Ravichandran said that in 2019 the NEET cut-off marks for OC category was 430. However, this year the cut-off marks increased to 524 marks. The NEET cut-off marks for OBC category candidates in 2018 was 375 whereas this year it increased to 474. Students who are securing 450 marks in NEET are also opting for foreign medical universities.
Mr. Suresh Kumar, Truematics Managing Director said that NEET entrance exam is compulsory for both category students i.e. students applying for foreign medical colleges as well as students opting for Indian medical colleges in order to be eligible to practice in India. However, the foreign universities do not see the NEET marks much but still, it is important for Indian students in order to practice in India after the course. He added that all the students are very excited and interested in the NEXT examination.
