Supreme Court (SC) Hearing on JEE Main and NEET 2020 Postponement PILs, Check Live Updates

PILs have been filed in Supreme Court with regard to the postponement of JEE Main and NEET UG 2020 exams. The SC took up the hearing on August 17, 2020 and dismissed the plea stating that NEET and JEE Main 2020 will not be postponed.

Various PILs (Public Interest Litigations) have been filed in Supreme Court with regard to the postponement of JEE Main and NEET UG 2020 exams, which are scheduled to be conducted on September 01-06 and September 13 respectively. The apex court will take up the hearing on August 17, 2020. The admit card for JEE Main 2020 , which was supposed to be released on August 15, 2020, has been delayed due to the fresh PILs filed in SC. NTA will print exam slots and time on the admit card. The slot-based exam will reduce overcrowding at the exam centres.

JEE Main and NEET UG 2020 exams have been postponed twice. While some students & parents are demanding no change in September exam dates, most students are demanding the government to defer exam dates due to the rapid hike in the number of Covid-19 cases.

States likes Karnataka and Kerala have already conducted KCET and KEAM, state-level exams for B.Tech admission. While 3-4 lakh students attend these exams, over 25 lakh students appear for JEE Main and NEET. Therefore, conducting the exam may be a challenging task with al safety measures.
