The exam is being conducted offline by the Union Public Service Commission in two shifts. Paper 1 based on General Studies and Engineering Aptitude has been concluded in the morning shift from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Paper 2 based on core Engineering subjects (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunications) is scheduled in the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All the questions are of objective type, and the total marks allotted combining both papers are 500. The Union Public Service Commission will announce the UPSC ESE/IES Cutoff 2023 for the Preliminary exam soon depending on the standard of the paper, the total number of examinees, candidate reservation and other related factors.
