UPSC ESE Prelims 2023 : As per a recent notification, candidates can appear as many times as they want to clear the UPSC ESE Prelims 2023 examination. Applicants can sit more than once to pass the Indian Engineering Service exam unless they meet the upper age limit for IES 2023. The UPSC ESE Prelims 2023 examination will be held on February 19, 2023.
UPSC ESE Prelims 2023: Age Limit
The age limit for IES depends on the applicant’s category and occupation:
The applicant should be a minimum of 21 years old and a maximum of 30 years old to sit for the test.
For the scheduled tribe and the scheduled caste, the age limit will be extended up to 5 years.
For OBC category candidates, the age limit will be extended up to 3 years.
For the physically challenged candidates, the age relaxation will be stretched to 10 years.
The age limit for government servants will be relaxed up to 5 years if they are employed by the Ministry of Communication Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Central Public Works, etc.
Age relaxation of three years will be provided to the candidates working in those offices under the Ministry of Defence, Indian Navy, Geological Survey, Entrepreneurship, Military Engineering, etc.
Applicants will receive relaxations to sit for the UPSC ESE Prelims 2023 test, depending on their category and profession. While there is no set restriction on the number of attempts, if a candidate crosses the age threshold mentioned above, no further tries will be taken into account.
