Penza State Medical University is one of the most renowned medical state universities in the city of Penza, Russia. Initially known as the Penza Industrial Institute, the history of the university traces back to November 1, 1943, when the university opened its doors with 11 departments. Penza State University is a state-licensed higher education institution, licensed and accredited by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to hold educational activities in the field of higher education. It is also approved and recognised by NMC and WHO. The University has been ranked in the 51st position in the country rank while in the 2162nd position in the world rank.

The academic structure of Penza State Medical University comprises three structures: Institutes, departments, and faculties. While the Institutes form the largest structural units that carry out educational and research activity and embracing faculties; Faculties function as the educational, research, and administrative structural units, which provide training for students and graduate students in one or more related study fields, and including departments. The University offers various courses at Bachelors, Masters, Specialists, Post Graduate and Internship level degrees.
