Overview

Founded in 1963 by Bishop Walter W. Curtis, Sacred Heart University is an independent and the first Catholic University in the USAto be staffed by laypeople. The key objective of the university during its foundation was to provide education to society, regardless of creed, race, sex, or religion. Sacred Heart University is ranked #218 in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges inNational Universities. The university has also been named one of the Nations Best Universities by the U.S. News & World Report.
