Texas State University is a public research university which was founded in 1899 as  Southwest Texas State Normal School.  Over the years, the university name got changed several times and it was finally named as Texas State University in 2013. The university has been up for over a century and has expanded to become a community of thousands of students, faculty and staff. Each member of the university is united with a purpose to bring a positive impact in the world. With each passing year, the university is becoming stronger to achieve excellence in the field of education and research. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Texas State University campus has one of the most beautiful campuses in the state of Texas. The main campus of the university is named as San Marcos Campus and expands across an area of 492 acres. It is situated in San Marcos city of Texas. The university has a total of nine academic colleges offering a variety of courses. Students who want to take admission at Texas State University have options to choose from a number of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programmes in various disciplines. The course range is more than 200. One never feels lonely at Texas State, as each member of the university community is very supportive and inspiring to others.

Texas State University is the only university in Texas from where the US president Lyndon B. Johnson has graduated. COVID-19 Response

Texas State University has introduced a flexible face to face courses for students through which students will have options to attend in person as well as online classes. The idea is to reduce the density of students in the classrooms and maintain social distancing and safety. 

The university has also revised the fee structure of online and hybrid classes to help students who are facing financial difficulties during the COVID 19 situation. 

Any student who will be returning to the campus will have to take a 14 days quarantine as announced by the Dean of the university.
