The University of Tampa or UT was set up and has been operational since 1931. The central building is actually the iconic structure and used to be a famous resort built-in 1891. It is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in addition to having academic affiliations with ABET (Engineering/Technology), AACSB (Business), ACEN (Nursing), ACS (Chemical Society), ASBMB (Biochemistry/Molecular Biology), AAM (Museums), IC&UF & NAICU.
The University is ranked #17 (Regional-south), #24 (Best undergrad teaching) & #167 (Business Programs) by US News and World Report. UT also has been included in their list of 'America's Best Colleges' and has been mentioned in a high position in The Princeton Review's list of 'Best Undergraduate Education in the nation'.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
With a thoughtfully designed and landscaped campus encompassing 110 acres, UT students have access to over 60 Academic and Related Buildings, 11 Residence Halls, 12 Food Venues and Over 300 Student Clubs & Activities also hosting up-to 1000 events annually. The campus also houses the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education; Sykes College of Business; College of Arts and Letters & College of Natural and Health Sciences offering all levels of education.
With over 200 Areas of Studies for Undergraduates and 14+ Masters Degrees to offer, UT's most sought after programmes are Criminology, Business Administration, Management, Marketing Management, Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), International Business & Entrepreneurial Studies.
Accomplishments & Alumni
With 22+ Official University teams, UT has been a part of the NCAA-II Championships for many years and has over 105 Championships to its name. UT is one of the few Universities recognised worldwide to have made special provisions to monitor and also react to storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, and severe weather conditions. It also has a LEED-certified for some of the buildings on its campus.
UT is also proud to have 140000+ alumni worldwide, making a mark in various fields and at various levels of their careers and industries. UT is known historically for being one of the most inclusive campuses in the nation with 9,800+ students enrolled in 2019, 1400 (~9.1%) out of which were international students representing 135+ countries and an amazing international student retention rate of 73%. The University also is recognized for its amazing campus environment where an 'emphasis on unity and community' is the informal motto. With a gender distribution of 58% female students, UT demographics also include many students from India, Kuwait, Venezuela, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Trinidad, and Tobago & Norway.
