VU campus is spread over 138.78 acres and is in two parts, the main campus and the residential campus. The main campus area is 103.74 acres, while the residential campus is 35.04 acres. The whole campus has 24*7 high-speed wifi connectivity and other electronic facilities, making it a smart campus. The main campus has the Administrative Building, D.D.E Building With Guest House, Humanities Building, Science Building, Central Library, Tribal Culture Building, PG Boys Hostel, Non-Teaching Staff Hostel, Sports Complex with Pavilion, Women Infrastructure, etc. And the residential campus includes the Vice-Chancellor Bungalow and V.I.P Guest House. PG Girls Hostel, Teachers and Officers Hostel, Student Amenities Centre, Teachers Quarter etc.

Despite being situated in a rural area, the infrastructure of VU, Midnapore, is amazingly up to the mark. It has E-enabled classrooms, air-conditioned laboratories and research centres, 24 hours high-speed internet connection via wifi, RFID technology in the central library, spacious unisex hostels, a pavilion for sports culture etc. Having all these infrastructures, it is very obvious that the university provides its students with several top-quality facilities. VU facilities include the centre for continuing and Adult Education: CCAE or Centre for Continuing and Adult Education under Vidyasagar University Midnapore, which facilitates working professionals, students and many others to continue their higher studies and brush up their skills. It offers eight master’s degree courses and several certifications and diploma courses. This centre is also approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Moreover, students under the Centre for Continuing and Adult Education are provided library facilities, study materials, placement guides, transport facilities, etc. Classes are held every day except Sundays and other holidays from 4 pm to 8 pm (11 am to 8 pm on Saturdays). CCAE admission under VU is not based on merit. The admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. However, they must meet the specific eligibility criteria for admission to courses offered.

Hostel: Vidyasagar University has separate on-campus hostels for boys and girls that accommodate more than 100 students each. Each hostel has a badminton court and set-up for other indoor games like carrom, ludo, chess etc. In addition to that, students living in the hostels of VU can enjoy 24*7 high-speed internet connectivity. These hostels have TV, yoga and gymnasium facilities, and the latest newspaper and journal collections. Boys hostel facilities at VU include infrastructure for playing cricket and volleyball. The hostels also provide an ambulance facility.

Medical Unit: Medical unit at Vidyasagar University Midnapore provides students with numerous medical facilities and psychological counselling. The students and the university staff can avail of first aid facilities, ECG facilities, medicinal facilities for common ailments, Blood Glucose Measuring facilities, and oxygen cylinder facilities with a pulse oximeter. The unit is currently planning to open an Ultrasonography Unit and an Eye Care Unit. An ambulance facility is also available in order to tackle critical situations in an emergency. 

Guesthouse: There is a guesthouse situated on the campus of Vidyasagar University, where the official guests of the university stay during any seminar, conference, symposium etc. The guests are provided with beddings and the other necessary articles for use. For any missing items, the guest will have to bear the charges.

Animal House: Vidyasagar University lets its students perform research on animals as an application part of their courses. It provides a well-maintained Central Animal House Facility (CAHF) in Charles Darwin’s House, registered under the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India since 5th January 2018. The animal house of VU has a rat room, washing room, surgical room, mice room, sterilising room with autoclave, dressing room, quarantine room, Co2 gas cylinders and an office. 

Sports Unit: Vidyasagar University Midnapore sports unit arranges various tournaments for boys and girls. Volleyball, Cricket and Football tournaments are solely organised for the boys, while both men and women can participate in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Athletic Meets and Chess tournaments arranged by the VU sports unit. Currently, four staff are present at the sports unit, including a sports officer, a sports assistant, a gymnasium instructor for men and a gymnasium instructor for women. 

Central Library: Vidyasagar University central library opens every day at  10 am and closes at 7.30 pm (5.30 pm on weekdays). It has more than 138000 books in its collection that contains textbooks, reference books, journals, etc. Besides lending books and study materials, it provides students with various other facilities like remote access to resources through e-books, e-journals, online newspapers etc. Students can download or take printouts of the question papers from earlier years. They can even access the research materials and thesis from the library. VU central library services are of two types: traditional and electronic.

Instrument Facilities: The current instrument facilities available at USIC are Fluorescence Spectrophotometer, Polarising Microscope, Gel Doc XR system PC version, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), Cryo-microtome, Compound microscope, FTIR, particle size & potential zeta analyser, UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer, RT PCR system, AO+ size (42 inches) wide-format colour scanner, ELISA Plate Reader, Water Quality Analyzer. The university plans to have more instruments and has given a plea to UGC based on that.

ICT Facilities: The ICT MIS is the computer centre of VU that has played a huge role in making the university campus smart. It provides a wifi connection of 1 GBPS all over the campus which can be accessed by all the students, faculties, administrative officers and other staff of the university. In addition to that, e-Enabled Classrooms, Electronic Doors, Smart Card Based Attendance systems,  Campus-wide State of the Art intelligent CCTV Surveillance systems, Exclusively Deployed Mobiles Apps of the University, IP Telephony System and MM Video Conferencing, Participation in NAD, Media Centres for e-content development, Digital Signage, Development of Learning Management System and many more are the achievements of the ICT MIS of VU that helped entirely in creating a smart campus for the university. 

Weather Station Reporting Service: Vidyasagar University has its own weather station reporting service that showcases the amount of rainfall, the highest and the lowest temperature, the highest and the lowest RH, and the average temperature and RH of every day. These results can be found on the official website of VU.
