About VMOU
Vardhman Mahaveer Open University or VMOU is an open university in Kota, Rajasthan. Previously known as Kota Open University, it was established in 1987 to provide open learning education opportunities in Rajasthan. VMOU Kota is recognised by the Distance Education Bureau-University Grants Commission (DEB-UGC) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). VMOU Kota is accredited with an A Grade by NAAC.
VMOU offers 23 undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and PhD courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Education, and Management, among others. Some of the popular courses include BA, BCA, BJ, B.Sc, MBA, MJ, and M.Lib.I.Sc, M.Sc, MA, and MSW. These VMOU courses are offered under 22 departments, 7 regional centres, and 5 schools. VMOU admission is based on a candidate’s academic qualification and performance in entrance exams applicable to the respective courses. VMOU Kota Admission Process 2024
The process for VMOU Kota admission has been elaborated in the following steps:
- Apply Online: Go to the official website of VMOU (vmou.ac.in) and click on ‘First Year/Fresh. Then, click on ‘Apply Now’ and select ‘New User’.
- Complete Registration: Register with a valid contact number and email address, and verify the registration by entering the OTP received on the provided contact details.
- Choose Your Preferred Course: Choose your preferred course and complete the VMOU Kota application form with the required details.
- Upload Required Documents: Upload scanned copies of the photograph, signature, and necessary documents.

For MBA course admission, VMOU or Vardhman Mahaveer Open University conducts its own entrance exam, the Management Entrance Test (MET). However, if you have a good score in CAT, MAT, CMAT, or similar national-level exams, you may not need the VMOU MBA entrance test. Also a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognized university is a must for MBA admission. The institute no longer offers MCA program (discontinued in July 2024).
