AP SET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Individuals aiming to excel in the AP SET 2025 exam must familiarize themselves with the AP SET 2025 eligibility criteria. Every examination has a set of eligibility criteria which is prescribed by the examination conducting authority. Andhra University which conducts it on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh is responsible for prescribing the eligibility criteria for AP SET 2025. 

The AP SET eligibility criteria for the year 2025 comprises the marks to be secured by the candidates in the requisite qualifying examination, age limit, and qualifying examination. Candidates are advised to know the detailed information related to the AP SET eligibility criteria before appearing for the AP SET 2025 examination.  We have provided all the details related to the topic in the section below.

AP SET 2025 General Eligibility Norms

Given below are the general eligibility criteria of AP SET 2025 which must be fulfilled by the candidates to successfully apply to appear in the AP SET 2025 exam -

  • The applicants who wish to apply for the APSET Exam 2025 should check the eligibility criteria. The candidates of any age can apply for the exam. There is no age limit to it. They should only hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in it. For BC/SC/ST/PWD candidates, there is a rebate of 5%. The candidates require a minimum of 50% marks. If the candidates are pursuing a master’s degree and are studying in the final-year, they can complete the master’s degree and achieve the minimum marks. If they achieve the required result within two years of the result date, they will be eligible for the process ahead.

  • Candidates who have already appeared or will be appearing in the final examination of their Master's degree or any other equivalent qualifying exam can also appear in AP SET 2025. The selection or qualifying status of such candidates will be confirmed once they pass all the subjects in the final year Masters degree course.  

  • The candidates who have a Ph.D. degree and have completed their Master’s degree by 19th September 1992 are also eligible to appear in the AP SET examination 2025. They will also be offered a relaxation of 5% on the minimum marks required.

  • There is no upper age limit for the candidates to appear in the AP SET 2025 exam. 

  • Lastly, the candidates who have already qualified in UGC NET or the AP SET examination are not considered eligible to appear in the same subject.

Note: The verification of the required documents is not done by the AP SET office. The candidates should still find out if they fulfill all the eligibility criteria as declared by the examination conducting authority. In case the ineligibility is detected, the candidature of the student can get cancelled and it might lead to legal actions.
