The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC NET exam pattern 2024 with the official notification. The UGC NET December 2024 exam will be conducted in the third week of December 2024. The UGC NET 2024 exam consists of two papers—Paper 1 and Paper 2. These papers are conducted simultaneously, without any breaks. Both papers comprise objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

In UGC NET Paper 1 the questions will be generic in nature, intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.

UGC NET Paper 2 exam will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions of Paper 2 will be compulsory.
Candidates need to choose the subject of the UGC NET Paper 2 from the given options of 82 subjects while filling out the application form. Candidates need to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. Candidates, whose Post Graduation subject is not covered in the list of NET subjects, can appear in a related subject.
UGC NET 2024 will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates will have to select the right answer from among the options available for each question. Answering all the MCQs has been issued to be mandatory by the exam conducting authority.
