- For B.Sc and B.Voc. courses, students who have passed the 10+2 level examination or any other equivalent examination with an average of 40% marks, are eligible to apply at ESAD, Jaipur.
- For B.Sc courses, students must score at least 40% marks at graduation level from any recognized institute or university to apply at Ellen School of Art and Design, Jaipur.
- For Diploma courses, one must qualify a 10+2 level examination or any examination conducted by a recognized university to apply at Ellen School of Art and Design, Jaipur.
- The eligibility criteria in ESAD to apply for the certificate, part-time, and weekend courses are that applicants have to pass the 10+2 level exam from any recognised board.

Students who are applying for courses that do not follow merit-based selection will have to appear for EEED, which is regarded as the entrance exam of ESAD. The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained by the students in the EEED examination.
This entrance exam is conducted on the campus of ESAD, Jaipur, every year at the time of January and July. This exam is mainly divided into two tests: Design Skill Test and Personal Interview.
