Latest: NISER and UM DAE CEBS have activated the NEST 2024 application correction on June 12, 2024. Candidates who have submitted the NEST application form 2024 before the prescribed deadline, can edit their application form. According to the official schedule, the last date to edit the NEST 2024 Application Form is June 14, 2024. Moreover, the NEST 2024 admit card will be released on June 15, 2024.

NISER's academic programmes are linked to the Homi Bhaba National Institute, which is part of the Department of Atomic Energy. As a result, HBNI provides the degrees. Given the importance of the programmes and degrees it offers, the institute assesses students' competency before admitting them. The institute administers a national-level screening test called NEST to students enrolled in the 5-year integrated M.Sc. programme. What is NEST?
NEST or the National Entrance Screening Test is a national-level entrance test conducted to enrol students for NISER’s five-year integrated M.Sc. programme in basic sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. This computer-based test has been accepted by the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences too.
NISER Courses Offered Through NEST 2024
As securing a seat at NISER is very competitive now, candidates need to know about the NISER courses and NEST 2024 syllabus from the very beginning. The candidates of NISER-NEST need to be prepared in the syllabus of the following courses:

After the completion of the courses, students are honoured with the degree of Master of Science in any of the above-mentioned four subjects. All the courses are offered through structured and balanced course modules. Generally, NISER admissions are offered according to the candidates’ course preferences. But in any case, if a student wants to change his/her schools, NISER will allow that only after the end of 1st semester subject on the seat availability.
Note : The academic session of NISER usually commences in August every year.

NISER Courses through NEST 2024: Eligibility Criteria
It is crucial to meet the following eligibility criteria before applying for the integrated 5 years M.Sc. programme of NISER:
- Candidates need to pass the Class XII examination in the regular science stream
- They must be qualified in Class XII from a recognized board in India in 2022, and 2023 or appearing in 2024.
- Candidates who have appeared in the 2024 board examination are also eligible for the course provided they must at the time of NISER admission through NEST.
- They need to have at least 60% in total or equivalent scores in XII examination.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Divyangjan categories will get 5% relaxation in the aggregate.
- Candidates obtaining letter grades must submit a certificate of the same board declaring an equivalent percentage.
- Candidates belonging to the General and OBC Category must be born on/after 1st August 2004.
- SC/ST and Divyangjan will get 5% relaxation in age.
- The candidates must secure a rank in the NEST merit list for final admission.
Note: Original certificates need to be submitted only during admission.
