Maharaja Arts and Science College Coimbatore was founded in 1998 by the Erode-based Paramasivam Palanisamy Charitable Trust. The UGC recognises the institution under sections 2(f) and 12(B), it is certified by the AICTE in New Delhi, and it is affiliated with Bharathiar University in Coimbatore. Thiru. K. Paramasivam, B.Sc., is the college's founder and chairman. He is a prominent businessman, educator, and compassionate philanthropist. The institution is devoted to provide higher education in the fields of Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management.

The MASC Coimbatore campus is also very vast. More than 60 classrooms, an administrative block, a computer laboratory, physics and chemistry labs, a seminar hall, and a library are there in the institution's 60000 sq. ft. area. It's on the National Highway near Neelambur, about 18 kilometres from the Coimbatore train station, 6 kilometres from the airport, and 30 kilometres from Tirupur.
