NIE Mysore - Admission 2024, Fees, Courses, Placement, Ranking

NIE Mysore accepts KCET scores for admission to BE courses. Admission to BE will start after the KCET 2024 result is released on May 20, 2024. For now, students can download the provisional answer key of KCET which was released by KEA on April 29, 2024. Students can check the KCET 2024 provisional answer key 2024 at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/. If candidates find any error then they can raise objection by May 7, 2024. KCET 2024 final answer key will be made public on May 10, 2024 (tentative). 

The National Institute of Engineering Mysore is an autonomous institution and was founded in the year 1946. The NIE Mysore admissions to some of the prominent courses are offered to the candidates on the basis of their performance in entrance exams like KCET, COMEDK, CET, PGCET and more. It is a grant-in-aid institution that has also been approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi was affiliated with the National Institute of Engineering. In the year 2007, NIE Mysore received autonomy from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The NBA & NAAC has accredited the National Institute of Engineering with B++ grade. 

The National Institute of Engineering campus is spread over an area of 12 acres. Under VTU and AICTE for QIP, all of NIE Mysore departments are recognised as Research Centers. Some of the popular NIE Mysore courses are B.E, M.E./M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc., and PhD courses. The faculty of the college is also very qualified with a total strength of 179. The placement cell of NIE Mysore is also very active throughout the year to provide employment assistance to the final year degree students. Some of the major recruiters participating in the NIE Mysore placement drive are Amazon, Cognizant, L&T, TCS and more.

Numerous scholarships are available from the National Institute of Engineering to deserving or under-privileged students. Additionally, scholarships from unrelated organisations are permitted. Among the NIE Mysore scholarships available, some of them are:

• Gowramma & B. N. Subba Rao Memorial Endowment Scholarships for underprivileged students without access to other scholarships.
• Late Sri. Ramanuja Iyengar Scholarship Fund for the topper student in first-year B.E
• Venkubai Endowment Scholarship for exceptional athletic achievement, among many others.

Accreditations

• Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering and Civil Engineering (UG) programmes offered by the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore are accredited by NBA.
• Structural Engineering (PG) course offered by NIE Mysore is also accredited by NBA. 
• The National Institute of Engineering Mysore is accredited by NAAC with a B++ grade. 

Recognition

• The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Rankings

• As per NIRF 2021 ranking, the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore ranked 196th in the engineering category.

NIE Mysore courses are offered for a variety of UG, PG, and PhD levelled courses. A total of 38 programmes are offered by NIE Mysore.
