Yenepoya University was established in the year 2008 in the city of Mangalore. It is a private, deemed-to-be university. The University Grants Commission (UGC) recognises of Yenepoya University (Deemed to be University). The university has also been accredited by NAAC with an "A+" grade. Mr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi founded the Islamic Academy of Education, which later became the Yenepoya University Mangalore. - The Yenepoya University application fee for UG and PG courses is Rs 500 and Rs 1000 respectively.
- Applicants must send copies of the needed documents and a DD to pay the Yenepoya University application fee after successfully enrolling through the website.
- Admission is determined by the All India Rank list created by the relevant entrance examination authority. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi, is in charge of the centralised Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), which is in charge of allocating seats for admission and managing the centralised online counselling.

The Yenepoya University admissions to various medical courses are made based on performance in the important entrance exam, NEET - UG & PG. Students who apply for admission must meet the necessary eligibility requirements in order to be evaluated; if they do not, their applications will be rejected. To be eligible for counselling and admission, students must score at least 50% on the medical entrance exam. Candidates who fail to show up for the interviews will not be admitted, and their applications will be cancelled. The candidates who receive the best scores and meet the Yenepoya University NEET UG cutoff for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.
