What is RIE CEE?

The NCERT - National Council of Educational Research and Training administers the RIE CEE (Regional Institute of Education Common Entrance Examination), an entrance exam for undergraduate and postgraduate education courses. Individuals seeking to pursue a degree in education at the undergraduate or graduate level can apply for this admission test. This exam exclusively offers qualified applicants seats in RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhopal, RIE Bhubaneswar, and  RIE Mysuru.

Eligibility Criteria of RIE CEE 2026

You must meet specific RIE CEE 2026 eligibility criteria given by the NCERT Examination Board to be qualified to sit for the RIE CEE exam 2026. To be suitable for the B.Ed program at RIE CEE 2026, you must have completed a graduation or postgraduation or 12th standard in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Humanities) with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved You) in the qualifying exam.

B.Sc BEd 

Applicants must have a 10+2/higher secondary in PCM/PCB with a minimum of 50% marks, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST from any recognised board.

BA BEd

You must have a 10+2/higher secondary diploma in Science, Commerce, or Arts with a least 50% marks, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST applicants from any recognised board.

M.Sc Ed

Applicants must have a 10+2/ higher secondary diploma in Science and Mathematics from any recognised institute with a minimum of 50% marks. Those from the SC/ ST category will get a 5% relaxation.

BEd Programme

Aspirants should have a graduation/post-graduation degree from a recognised Institution or University, with at least 50% marks from the General category (5% relaxation for SC/ST).

MEd Programme

Students should have a graduation degree (B.Ed/ B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed/ B.El.Ed/ D.El.Ed) from a well-known institution with 50% marks (minimum). SC / ST exam-takers will have a 5% relaxation.

How to Apply for RIE CEE 2026

The RIE CEE 2026 application process includes:

• Registration.
• Completing the form.
• Paying the requisite application charges.
• Uploading the necessary papers.

After paying the fee, applicants must save and download the form for future use.

RIE CEE 2026 Admit Card

Aspirants can receive their RIE CEE admit cards via the RIE's official website. They need to access the system by entering their registration ID and password. You must report any issues with the hall ticket to the authorities right away.

RIE CEE 2026 Exam Centres

You can select your preferred exam centre while applying for RIE CEE. You will have 35+ test centre options to choose from. These include venues in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi, Prayagraj, Raipur, Shimla, Shillong, Vijayawada, etc. Make sure to review factors like the distance of the test venue from your place of residence, how to reach there, etc, before adding them to your RIE application form. Additionally, in rare circumstances, you may not be assigned the test centre of your choice due to the unavailability of seats or a lack of infrastructure.

Exam Pattern of RIE CEE 2026

Knowing the exam pattern of RIE CEE will help you begin your preparations accordingly. RIE CEE is held in CBT mode for 2 hours (120 minutes). The test will contain 80 questions. The more familiar one is with the exam's format and content, the stronger one's chances of doing well. Out of 80 questions, 20 will be on English language proficiency, 30 on teaching aptitude/attitude, and 30 on reasoning ability.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) administers the Regional Institutes of Education Common Entrance Examination (RIE CEE) to shortlist students for admission to UG and PG level programs at Prarambh and Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs). 

Those who pass the entrance exam will be admitted to the RIE CEE 2026 participating colleges. Seats will be allocated based on the performance in the entrance exam and the availability of seats at the college.
