Students pursuing P.hd from Lucknow University will have to submit only two papers now. In a meeting of arts faculty board at Lucknow university, new syllabus for P.hd was finalized. According to a member of arts faculty board there were no similarities between P.hd course work of departments and this kind of change in syllabus will bring that. Some departments had three course works, but now all departments will have only two papers. First one will be theoretical and Second paper will be based on research methodology.
Board has also decided to have 'Mid-Tests' for P.hd course works. P.hd course work paper will take place at the end of six month's semester. These exam will also have both internal and external marking system like other semester exams. There will be 30 marks for midtests and 70 for semester exams.
Board has decided to present new syllabus infront of working committee meeting on March 19.
