How will JEE Main Cancellation Affect Serious Students?
We all know that certain students prepare for JEE Main and JEE Advanced for at least a year in order to get admission to IITs. These students work rigorously to achieve their goals. The cancellation of JEE Main will affect these students as their preparation will go in vain. At the same time, students may go into depression if IIT/ NIT admissions are based on Class 12 marks. However, this situation will not arise and the government will consider all possibilities to conduct the JEE Main exam.
Recently, IITs have also opined that the cancellation of JEE Main is not the best option. As admission to IITs is a serious matter, it should be based on the JEE Main and Advanced only.
How will JEE Main Postponement Affect Students?
Postponement of JEE Main 2022 exam date will also have a negative impact on students who have been constantly preparing for the exam. The JEE Main exam dates have been rescheduled from June 20 to June 29, 2022 for the first session and July 21 to July 30, 2022 for the second session and most students have mentally prepared for the same. Postponing JEE Main again will influence students in such a way that they may lose interest in exam preparation and taking the exam as well.
How will JEE Main Cancellation Affect B Tech Admission Process 2022?
If the JEE Main exam is canceled for the year 2022, it will have a great impact on the B.Tech admission process for the academic session 2022-23. While IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs consider JEE Main rank for admission, cancellation of exams will lead to changes in the admission rules. If Class 12 marks are to be considered for admission, some students may not get admission to their preferred college.
For example, if a student scored 85% in board exams and 90 percentile in JEE Main, he/ she will be advantageous if considered JEE Main rank. If board exam marks are considered the same, the student may not get admission to college as per his choice or preference.
States that conduct their own entrance exams will also face this issue if exams are canceled. Therefore, cancellation of entrance exams cannot be the best option.
Is there a Chance for Considering JEE Main 2021 Percentile for Admission?
As of now, no decision has been taken on the consideration of JEE Main 2021 marks. To be precise, most students consider the January session of JEE Main as a practice test, and based on the percentile scored in the first session, students prepare accordingly for the second session. Therefore, considering JEE Main January 2021 session percentile may not be possible.
Student Safety vs Conducting Entrance Exam

How will B Tech Admission Process Take Place if JEE Main Is Cancelled?
If the JEE Main entrance exam or any other state-level exam is canceled, the following changes are expected in the admission process for the B.Tech course.
Merit List
Tamil Nadu is one of the states where engineering exams are non-entrance based. Students are admitted based on Class 12 marks. The marks scored in main subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology are aggregated to determine the merit positions. If entrance exams are canceled, states that conduct entrance exams may follow the process adopted by Tamil Nadu for B.Tech admission. You can click on the links below for more details.
Online Document Verification
Unlike every year where students need to go to the helpline center for document verification, the admission process of 2022 will have changes where students will upload their documents online and the same shall be verified digitally. This process will be implemented even if exams are canceled or not.
Online Classes
It is most unlikely that face-to-face classes/ offline classes will happen this year. While some private universities are ready to start online classes after conducting online counseling, this year, we may expect only online classes.
Conclusion
It is not the right time to say that JEE Main exam should be canceled for the academic session 2022-23 and students must be admitted on the basis of merit. According to the latest updates, the JEE Apex Board will conduct JEE Main 2022 from June 20 to June 29, 2022 for the first session and July 21 to July 30, 2022 for the second session.
