JEE Main Preparation Tips 2025
Generally, tips and tricks for major exams assist candidates in successfully qualifying for the exam. Similarly, JEE Main being one of the major exams conducted by NTA requires candidates to deliver the utmost focus that will ultimately help them qualify the same. Candidates must follow the JEE Main preparation tips mentioned in the below section.
Solve Numerous Question Papers: Candidates who will be appearing for the JEE Main exam must not only solve the JEE Main previous year question papers but also solve question papers of various university entrance tests like VITEEE and Amity JEE, other state entrance examination papers like the WBJEE exam and KCET, and mock question papers of various coaching institutes.
Start with your Favourite Subject: Usually, experts advise candidates to start their preparation for the JEE main exam with their favourite subject as this will keep the students intrigued in preparing for the exam. Moreover, a candidate having a good grasp of one particular subject will also assist in maintaining a level of confidence intact during the preparation phase.
Give Attention to Online Materials: It becomes a challenging task for aspirants to equally focus on books and online materials for their JEE Main exam preparation. But few websites and also free tutorial videos sometimes make herculean tasks easy by continuing the efforts of the students.
Focus on Topics Having Highest Weightage of Marks: It is advised by experts and academicians that students must prioritise the concepts and topics that get the highest weightage in the JEE Main exam. For example in chemistry, NTA usually asks questions about inorganic chemistry, chemical thermodynamics, oxygen compounds etc. From physics, topics like thermodynamics, electrostatics, magnetism, optics, and laws of motion are important from the exam point of view. Mathematics, however, is the most challenging subject among all three and from this subject quadratic equations, relations and functions, matrices, differential equations, integral calculus, differentiation, permutation and combination. Limits and continuity are the major topics.
Selective Study is Important for Competitive Exams: For any competitive exam, selective study is highly recommended. Students must know how much time they need to devote to one topic. Therefore it is advised that topics that are important and expected to be asked in the upcoming exam students must prepare them. However, for the topics that are mostly not asked in the exam, students can leave them out. For example, in mathematics, students are expected to have an extensive grasp of topics like differential equations, calculus, integration, and probability among others.
Try Attempting All the Questions: During the exam, candidates are advised to attempt each and every question. Most top-ranked students attempt all the questions in the JEE main exam. Therefore candidates are recommended that they solve the questions they are sure about in the first go and they get back to those questions they have left unanswered.
- Follow Tricks in Attempting Questions: Since the JEE Main exam is one of the most attempted exams in the country, there are many trick videos available on YouTube and other websites. Candidates must follow a few videos that they can adopt during the exam. This will not only help them to relax but also make them aware of the tricks students can use.
