Kerala University Admission: Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses

Kerala University PG Course Eligibility Criteria based on Native Place
Candidates must be Indian citizens. Relevant regulations will apply to foreign residents.
Kerala University PG Course Eligibility Criteria Based on Academic Performance
- Students who have completed the 10+2+3 education scheme and hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kerala, or an equivalent degree, are eligible for admission to PG programs if they meet the following criteria:
A CGPA of 3.5 or above on a 7-point scale
A CGPA of 5 or above on a 10-point scale
A score of 50% or above for degrees that use marks
- For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria are relaxed as follows:
A CGPA of 3.15 or above on a 7-point scale
A CGPA of 4.5 or above on a 10-point scale
A score of 45% or above for degrees that use marks.
- Additionally, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in the subjects specified in Schedule I for the corresponding PG programs. The CSSAC has the authority to recommend updates to Annexure I based on recommendations from the Department Councils.
- Candidates who have taken their Bachelor's degree exams and are awaiting results can also apply.
- Any candidate previously admitted to a PG program at this university in any subject is eligible to apply for any other PG program.
- Multiple Applications: A candidate can apply for up to three PG programs simultaneously.
- Candidates with double or triple majors, or those who have completed a vocational or specialized degree, are also eligible for admission. However, they must provide a copy of the Equivalency and Eligibility certificate from the University of Kerala, confirming that their qualification is recognized for the relevant PG degree program at the time of admission.
- The optional subject for the PG program should be the same as the core course or main subject of the candidate's graduation, or conventionally related to the chosen optional subject. If the core course differs from the desired PG program, eligibility will be determined according to the university's existing rules.

Kerala University Admission Application Process for PG Courses
The University of Kerala offers Post Graduate Admission through an online application process. Candidates can complete the entire process in a very hassle-free manner if the university-mentioned instructions are followed appropriately. The rules applicants need to follow during the PG admission application process are as follows: -
- Candidates aspiring to enroll in PG courses in any affiliated colleges of Kerala University need to register through the official website of the university
- Javascript should be enabled on your device before the candidates proceed to the registration process.
- Candidates need to read and follow the regulations very well before applying to their desired course.
- Candidates need not press the “back” button while they continue the registration process.
Step 1: Registering on the Site: Click on the 'Click Here to Register' link on the CSS–Admissions 2025 homepage and provide basic information such as name, date of birth, and community. Upon successful completion of this step, log in to the site using your application number and password. It is recommended to change the password immediately to prevent unauthorized access. Remember to note down the password and application number for future logins.
Step 2: Entering Personal Details, Qualifying Exams, and Options for Various Programmes: On this page, candidates must provide their personal and reservation details and produce all supporting documents for claimed reservations; otherwise, the reservation claims will be discarded. After entering these details, candidates can input their CGPA/marks for Arts, Social Sciences, and Sciences degree programs. Candidates must meet all eligibility conditions regarding nativity and academic qualifications as stated in the Prospectus. If a candidate does not meet these conditions, their application will be cancelled without further notice. Carefully complete the details and click 'Save Information' to proceed to the next step.
Note: No memos will be sent by post for defective applications. An edit option will be available for a limited period, after which no corrections or changes will be allowed. (Final Year Degree Candidates awaiting results can also apply.)
Step 3: Click the 'online' button to proceed with the online payment.
Step 4: Photo and Signature Uploading: Upload the scanned photo and signature in the prescribed format provided on the site.
Step 5: Option for Verifying the Application: Candidates can verify and edit their application details.
Step 6: Printout of the Application: Candidates must print out the application form for future reference and produce it at the time of admission. This is a mandatory step. Do not send a hard copy of the application to the University.

Here are some crucial details about the Kerala University PG Admission 2025 entrance exams to be held in May 2025 (tentative):
- Mandatory Entrance Examination:
- Required for admission to each PG Programme.

The University has a structured selection process for all the courses it offers. Candidates’ potential is tested through an entrance exam. For sponsored candidates, the ranking will be based on 80% weightage for CGPA aggregate in bachelor’s, followed by 10% work experience, and 10% interview by the Department.
The ranking list is prepared based on the performance of the entrance exam, aggregate marks in degree course level, and scores obtained in personal interview sessions. For admissions to MBA, KMAT, CMAT, and CAT scores will be considered.
