About LPU

Lovely Professional University or LPU is a private institution situated in Chaheru, Phagwara, Punjab, India. Established in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 (Punjab Act 25 of 2005), it began operations in 2006. LPU holds multiple approvals and recognitions from bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Council of Architecture, Association Of Indian Universities (AIU), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Council Of Architecture(COA), Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR), The Institution Of Engineers (India), Institute Of Town Planners, India (ITPI), and Bar Council of India (BCI). In its first NAAC accreditation cycle, LPU achieved an “A++” grade.

The university offers programmes across diverse fields, including business, fashion design, engineering, law, education, agriculture, humanities, and tourism. Admission to the majority of the courses is based on the LPUNEST. Apart from this, exams like GATE, NATA, CUET, CAT, XAT, NEET, etc. are also accepted. LPU hosts over 30,000 students and employs 4,000 faculty members across its 600-acre campus. LPU offers a total of 46 courses across diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels, spanning over 55 diverse streams. These include engineering, management, science, computer applications, design, pharmacy, architecture, and tourism, among others. Popular LPU courses encompass B.Tech, B.Pharm, BSc, B.Des, M.Arch, LLM, MCA, M.Pharm, and MBA. All programmes are conducted in regular mode, with annual LPU fees ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 7,90,000 depending on the course. LPU has also started some new courses like BSc (Hons.) Forensic Sciences, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, MCA (Hons.) (Cyber Security), etc.

LPU offers various academic programmes at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Admission to these programs is facilitated through various entrance tests conducted by the university, namely LPUNEST, LPUPET, and LPUTABS. As per the LPU admission process, LPUNEST serves as a mandatory test for admission into B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Law, design (UG and PG), integrated BBA MBA, B.Pharm, B.Sc agriculture, B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc (Hons), BCA, and MCA courses. For other programmes, LPUNEST functions as a scholarship test. For admission to BTech courses, candidates need to qualify for JEE Main/LPUNEST/CUET. I chose B.Tech in Computer Science at LPU due to its reputation for excellent placements and industry-relevant curriculum. The best things about my course were the experienced faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and opportunities for internships and projects. I wish there were more emphasis on research and development and better communication between the faculty and students. The campus life was vibrant, with various events and fests like One World, Youth Vibe, and cultural nights. The crowd was diverse, and the campus surroundings were beautiful. I availed a scholarship based on my academic performance, and there were many extracurricular activities to engage in. Overall, my experience at LPU was enriching and helped me grow both academically and personally.

What is the LPU Admission Process?

LPU admission 2024 has started. The application process of LPU is available in online mode and registration can be done from the official website. Students have to ensure they have the required eligibility criteria. Note that, for the majority of the courses, LPU accepts LPUNEST entrance exam scores. Hence, students may have to qualify for the LPUNEST exam and the admissions will be offered accordingly. Further, the authorities also accept national-level entrance exam scores for BTech, MBA, MTech, BDes, BArch etc examination along with LPUNEST scores.

Which entrance exam scores are accepted for LPU admission in BDes courses?

For admission in BDes courses, LPU Phagwara accepts UCEED, NIT DAT, NIFT UG and NIFT B.FTech scores. The university also conducts LPUNEST for BDes admission. The Bachelor of Design is a four years undergraduate programme offered in specialisations like global design, interior & furniture design, film & TV production etc.

What is the annual charge for LPU hostel facilities?

LPU hostel fee ranges from Rs 75,000 - Rs 2,00,000 per annum. The university has individual hostels for boys and girls students. LPU hostel fee depends on the accommodation chosen by the candidate. LPUNEST stands for Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test. It is conducted for admission and scholarship purposes by the university. LPU conducts LPUNEST every year across 200 centres in 28 states and 8 union territories. The exam pattern of LPUNEST varies for each discipline.

Does LPU offer scholarships to sports achievers?

Yes, the university provides scholarships to students with sports achievements at international, national and university level. LPU sports scholarships are divided into four categories: A+ grade, A grade, B grade and C grade. Lovely Professional University provides scholarships to eligible candidates across various categories. The main criterion for awarding these scholarships is the LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test). the M pharmacy program in lovely professional university is really good. a lot of well stablished companies are there for placement like DR REDDY, CIPLA, SUNPHARMA, PFIZER ETC. the average salary package was 4 lakh p/a was there and the highest salary package was 7 lakh p/a. and most important the placement rate was 80% .
