NIIFT Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria 2024

The candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria of the NIIFT entrance examination before applying for admission to the college. Check out the parameters mentioned below that an aspirant had to meet before filling out the application form for the NIIFT entrance exam 2024

For UG Courses: If a candidate has qualified for any of the criteria mentioned below, he/she is eligible to apply for admission into UG courses.

• The candidate must have passed the class 12th or intermediate examination from a recognized state or central board of education.

• The aspirant must have appeared for the GCE (General Certificate Education) exam (Sri Lanka/ Cambridge/ London) at an advanced level.

• The applicant must have cleared any board/ public school/ university exam abroad or in India. The exam must be recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

• The candidate must have cleared the class 12th exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

For PG course: Fulfilling any of the criteria mentioned below makes the candidate eligible to apply for admission to NIIFT PG courses.

• The candidate must possess a degree of B.Tech /B.E./ B.Sc.

• The applicant must be a holder of B.Com/ BA/ BCA/ BBA with any of the list of necessary subjects including Computers/ Mathematics/ Accounts/ Home Science/ Fashion/ Textiles/ Marketing/ Economics/ Statistics/ Management.

Note: As per the official website, 85% of seats are reserved for students hailing from Punjab state whereas 15% of seats will be provided on an All India basis.

NIIFT Exam Pattern 2024

NIIFT admission is done for undergraduate courses. To offer the seats, the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology conducts this entrance exam in which candidates have to appear in both the written test followed by a situation test and a personal interview round. A total of 101 questions come in the exam that the candidates have to answer within 3 hours.

NIIFT Entrance Exam Application Process 2024

Once the candidate has qualified for the minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NIIFT, he/she must proceed with the application process. Mentioned below are the step-by-step guidelines that must be followed in order to apply for the NIIFT entrance exam 2024.

Online Process: Check out the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the university.

Step 2: Create a login by entering the credentials such as email ID, name, date of birth, choice of program and mobile number.

Step 3: After the successful completion of the previous steps, provide your e-mail ID and date of birth to log in.

Step 4: Start filling in the details in the application form. Do not provide incorrect or incomplete information as it would lead to your disqualification from the admission process.

Step 5: Upload the scanned images of the photograph and signature as per the specifications prescribed by the institute.

NIIFT Admission Criteria 2024

The admission criteria for NIIFT 2024 are mentioned below for students intending to understand the weightage:

• For UG courses, the admission criteria include the written exam, situation test, and interview. The weightage of the written NIIFT entrance exam 2024 is 60% weightage of 125 marks, for the situation test it is a 20% weightage of 20 marks, and the interview comprises a 20% weightage of 20 Marks.

NIIFT Entrance Exam Admit Card 2024

After successfully applying for the NIIFT entrance exam, the candidate will get access to download their admit card. Candidates must either enter the application form number or name and date of birth to download the NIIFT entrance exam admit card. The candidates must note that the admit cards are not sent by the institute via mail or post. Candidates are required to visit the official website and download the admit card for the NIIFT entrance exam on their own.

After downloading the admit card, take a printout of the same and affix two copies of the attested photographs. Applicants must take the admit card to the allotted test centres as they would not be granted entry without it.

NIIFT Entrance Exam Results 2024

The NIIFT entrance exam 2024 result is released on the official website of the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology. Candidates are advised to check their results on the date issued by the institute. Follow the process mentioned below to check out your NIIFT entrance exam result correctly.

• Go to the official website of the institute.

• The upper part of the home page consists of the tab ‘Admissions’. Click on it.

• Once you are redirected to the new page, discover it and click on ‘Result’.

• Submit your name/roll number along with the date of birth.

• You will get access to the NIIFT entrance exam result 2024.

• After checking your result, take a printout of it for further admission processes and references.

NIIFT Entrance Exam Counselling Process 2024

After the release of the results of the NIIFT entrance exam 2024, the candidates are called for admission based on their performance. Admission to the undergraduate courses is based on the performance in the written examination, situation test and interview round. For M.Sc GMT and M.Sc FMM, the written exam is followed by an interview. It is to be noted that candidates seeking admission to M.Des Fashion and Textiles can do so based on their score in graduation. Once the candidate has cleared all the rounds, he/she has to appear for the counselling process. Mentioned below are important guidelines adhering to the counselling process of the NIIFT entrance exam.

• Candidates need to carry educational and all necessary documents such as a Class X & XII certificate, 4 passport-sized photographs, a degree and a mark sheet of the qualifying exam.

• A seat is allotted to the candidate only after all the required documents are verified.

• Once seats are offered, they need to lock it by depositing the admission fees of NIIFT.

• If a candidate doesn't appear for the counselling process or does not submit the application fees on time, his/her candidature will be considered invalid by the institute.

• Also, reporting late at the counselling session would lead to the candidate’s selection against the seats available then.

NIIFT Entrance Exam 2024: Tie-Breaking Rule 

The tie-breaking rule is applicable in the NIIFT entrance exam 2024 if two or more students secure the same marks. So, the rank of the student in the merit list scoring equal marks will be based on below criteria:

• Students securing a higher aggregate percentage score in the qualifying exam will be granted higher rank in order of merit. 
• However, if the tie still persists, the student senior in age will be granted a higher rank in order of merit.
