The S.M.S. Institute of Technology came into existence in 1995, the extension in Lucknow was materialized only in 2008. The ‘State Board of Technical Education and Training’ was established in May 1958; and the first examination was conducted in 1960, for the courses at diploma level, and Draughtsman Certificate Course. The CIPET center at Lucknow was established in 1986-87 by Government of India. It got assistance from Government of Uttar Pradesh for supporting the plastics & allied industries in the state. The Plastics Testing Centre of the Institute accredited by NABL, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India for performing Mechanical and Chemical Tests. The Integral University was established as Institute of Integral Technology, Lucknow in 1998; and as Integral University, Lucknow, in 2004. It has been approved by the UGC, PCI, MCI, and NCTE. It is a member of AIU, and has been accredited by NAAC. The courses are accredited by the NBA.
