TNAU 2022 UG Rank List
TNEA Rank List 2022 will be released after the conclusion of the registration process on 02nd November. The rank list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in Class 12th. The detailed ranking procedure of TNAU can be checked below. The candidates must note that the Rank List PDF will be uploaded here as and when TNAU releases the same.
Ranking Procedure
The equation used to prepare the rank list is as follows –
Aggregate Mark = Sum of all the Four Subjects in Class 12th (Marks Obtained in Each Subject divided by maximum mark for the subject multiplied by 50). |
The below examples will give you a better idea –
Example 1
Name of the Student | Marks Obtained in Mathematics out of 100 | Marks Obtained in Physics out of 100 | Marks Obtained in Chemistry out of 100 | Marks Obtained in Biology out of 100 | Total Marks |
Candidate A | 80 | 75 | 85 | 90 | 330 |
Candidate B | 70 | 80 | 65 | 80 | 295 |
To prepare the rank list, the above score is calculated as follows –
The marks obtained in each subject have to be converted into 50 to obtain the aggregate marks.
Candidate A Aggregate Marks Calculation
Mathematics | 80/100X50 = 40 |
Physics | 75/100X50 = 37.5 |
Chemistry | 85/100X50 = 42.5 |
Biology | 90/100X50 = 45 |
Total Aggregate Marks | 40+37.5+42.5+45 = 165 |
Candidate B Aggregate Marks Calculation
Mathematics | 70/100X50 = 35 |
Physics | 80/100X50 = 40 |
Chemistry | 65/100X50 = 32.5 |
Biology | 80/100X50 = 40 |
Total Aggregate Marks | 40+37.5+42.5+45 = 147.5 |
As per the above calculation, the aggregate marks of the candidates are calculated. Based on the aggregate marks, the rank will be allocated.
TNAU Tie-Breaking Policy 2022
If two or more candidates achieve the same aggregate marks, the tie will be resolved as follows –
Rule 1 | Marks scored by the candidates out of 50 in Mathematics/ Botnay+Zoology shall be taken into consideration. Candidates with higher marks will be given a higher rank. |
Rule 2 | Marks scored by candidates in Physics out of 50 shall be taken into consideration. |
Rule 3 | Marks scored by candidates in Chemistry out of 50 shall be taken into consideration. |
Rule 4 | If the tie still exists after applying the above rules, the Date of Birth will be considered. The elder candidate will be given preference. |
