Modern College Pune Offers BSc Blended in Chemistry Course

The Progressive Education Society's Modern College of Arts Science and Commerce, Pune has become the first college to offer the BSc Blended in Chemistry programme. The college is offering the course in collaboration with the University of Melbourne and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

During the first two years of the course, the focus will be on core study of Chemistry, Mathematics, English Communication, Biology, Physics and Computer Programming.

The third year will be completely focused on Chemistry as a specialisation. The evaluation of students will be done on the basis of credit points garnered through practical research projects and examinations.

On completion of this three-year graduation course, SPPU will award the Degree while University of Melbourne will grant a quality assurance certificate.

While talking about the new course, Dr. G R Ekbote, chairman of the Progressive Education Society, said that the course has been designed to prepare students for the industry.

Eligibility Criteria for BSc Blended in Chemistry

• Candidate should have a 10+2 higher secondary school certificate or its equivalent.

• Candidate should have Mathematics as one of the 10+2 higher secondary core subjects.

Deadline to Apply for BSc Blended in Chemistry

Since admissions have started for the first batch, students can apply for the course by August 31, 2019.

Fees for BSc Blended in Chemistry

The fee of the course is undisclosed but will be in conformity with the norms of Pune University.

Seat Intake for BSc Blended in Chemistry

As of now, the course can only accomodate 45 students.

The introduction of the new course will address the need for multidisciplinary approach in education that meets international standards.
